Needlessly Offensive Games

In recent years, the number of offensive games are on the rise. Many games contain content that may be seen as offensive by certain people for numerous different reasons, however, many games now exist only to 'trigger' people and provoke a reaction. They then ride of this popularity to gain sales. On such recent case of this has been 'Active shooter', a game that prides its self as letting the player "be a good guy or a bad guy". What this essentially means is that its a game that encourages the player to shooting up a (virtual) school. It justifies this by claiming that it allows the player to 'choose' to be the school shooter. Many have flocked to the game to defend it from those who have any kind of objection towards it. They claim that these people are trying to have the game censored and that removing the game would be a violation of free speech.

The truly disgusting part about these games is that they trivialise horrific real life events to make a quick buck. 'Active Shooter' was made shortly after a school shooting in America to raise controversy while the awful occurrence was still fresh in the minds of the world. There have been many more examples since of these kinds of games, prompting game sites and sellers to curate what they have closely to avoid these blemishes from surfacing. 'Active Shooter' was up for around a full week before it was finally disposed of by Valve.

We encourage the reader to not give these games any attention other than reporting them as they are only exploiting atrocities for money.

On a more cheery note, stay tuned for the nearly complete new technology soon to be featured on henstargames. Have a great day!

Real Life Survival Game

I found my BBC Microbit once again, so it's time for some more random projects. Last years survival game trend may be over, but that doesn't mean I am not going to give it a shot myself. On that note, here is my real life survival game. All you have to do is live long enough to increment it by a day each day. Simple. Code for the BBC Microbit is down bellow.

Download this trash.

Does Ready Boost Improve FPS

Ready boost has been around years, but does it do anything but destroy USB sticks? That's the question I have been asking myself. So I decided to put it to the test. I ran the video stress test feature on Source SDK base 2006 with and without the stick. Here is my results:

With Stick: 82.51

Without Stick: 90

From our results, it appears that the USB stick actually decreased the FPS achieved. The same peripherals, software and conditions were present for each test. The decrease is likely just due to how the video stress test works, but this proves that READY BOOST DOES NOT BOOST FPS.

Game Of The Month

Welcome to this new format of post. Each month I will chose a game from distant past to the modern day to feature as 'game of the month'. This months game is Hard Drivin' . Hard Drivin' was an ambitious game for its time as a fully shaded 3rd racing game. When it first hit arcades it was a huge success, and with good reason too. The game simulates driving a car pretty realistically for its time and then has you race down either the 'speed route' (a high speed track) or a 'stunt route' that takes you over loop the loops, massive jumps and many other brilliant stunt opportunities. I would recommend playing it to this day if your a racing game fan.

Still love the gravity defying trucks. Stay tuned for next months game of the month as well as much, much more here on Henstar's Games.
